Licensing Options
Digital Fountain’s patented DF Raptor™ FEC technology can be used in a variety of hardware and software products, applications, and services to enable perfect communications. Digital Fountain offers various ways to license DF Raptor technology or Digital Fountain software components:
Evaluation License
The Digital Fountain Evaluation License grants the right to use Digital Fountain software components for purposes of internal evaluation and test. To develop a product or service, a Development License is required; to sell or distribute a product after its development, an OEM License is required.
Development License
The Digital Fountain Development License grants the right to use and implement DF Raptor technology and Digital Fountain software components in support of the development, test, prototyping, demonstration, and/or limited trial of products or services incorporating DF Raptor technology or Digital Fountain software components. To sell or distribute a product after its development, an OEM License is required.
The Digital Fountain Development License is typically provided as part of a DF Development Package that includes an appropriate Digital Fountain software development kit, training, and support.
OEM License
The Digital Fountain OEM License grants the right to use, sell, and distribute products that incorporate DF Raptor technology or Digital Fountain software components. Terms are a function of the specific application, anticipated volume, and commitment levels. The OEM License is generally based on a per-unit royalty for each unit sold, but we are able to customize terms to each situation so that the license best suits your established business practices.
Standards-Related OEM License
Digital Fountain technology has been adopted or is being considered for adoption as part of various industry standards. Digital Fountain offers an appropriate Standards-Related OEM License consistent with the associated intellectual property rights policy of the governing standards body.
